Private workshops in poetry run in 8 week blocks from September through June.
Description
The workshop is craft oriented — we’ll be thinking about how the work is managed on the page and will be looking at use of vocabulary, syntax, line formation, stanza formation, narrative development, tone.
Participants’ work is seen every other week by the workshop at large. On the week that your work is NOT seen, you may email a poem to me and I will write a brief comment on it. So, in essence, your work is seen by me every week, but workshop’d by the group every other week. Generally, poems of one page, with spillover to two pages, are the best for workshops. Longer poems tend to get short-changed in the workshop format.
Sessions begin at 6:30pm and run until 8:30 (9 at the latest). Walk up apartment and cats.
